Abraham de VRIES 1590-1662 attributed to "Portrait of a parliamentary Aix en Provence" oil on canvas (relining)
This table would be part of a series of five presidents and forty counselors "painted in red dress" in the time of Guillaume du Vair 1599-1616, the series is located in Aix en Provence in the chamber of the turret Palace of Aix, it is the fruit of Finson work in 1613-1614 and other regional and foreign painters, going or coming from Italy. The parliamentarian, unreleased, is therefore an important addition to the knowledge of this series.
