Model of the Canon Saint Peter, Italy late nineteenth patinated bronze, molded after the Canon if San Paolo which takes its name from the bearded head of the saint emerging from the reverse, originally sponsored around 1638 for the fortress of Pisa by the Great Duke Ferdinand II of Medicis and therefore struck with Medicis weapons as well as adorned with military motifs illustrating the strength and power of the Duchy of Tuscany (The original is part of the collection of the Museo Nacional del Bargello
